VisualContent90% of the information our brain receives every day is visual.

And there is a good reason for that - our brains processes visual content such as photos and icons 60,000 times faster than written words.

And 40% of people will respond better to visual information than plain text.

Try it for yourself.

Did you look at the visual first or did you read the text first?

You looked at the image.

Using easy to understand, clear and appealing graphical elements is an important part of any content marketing strategy.

Why Visual Content Is Important

With the rise of content marketing the consumer is flooded with dozens if not hundreds of personalized marketing messages every day. Information Overload is a real and tangible problem in today's society.

You need to enable your prospects, visitors and customers to consumer information more easily and quickly - after all the attention span of an Internet surfing adult is shorter than the one of a gold fish.

Visual Content Drives Engagement

There is a reason why Pinterest is so hugely successful and an enormous driver for traffic. Its visually based.

Also, Facebook posts with photos get significantly more shares and likes. Photos on Facebook generate 53% more likes than the average post, according to a HubSpot survey.

Videos are visual content as well and is gaining rapidly in popularity withing professional content marketing. YouTube has every week hundreds of hours of video uploaded and more businesses are using video messages to educate their visitors, show off their products in demo videos and use videos for customer support.

Visuals To Grow Brand Awareness

And visuals can drive brand recognition and awareness. By consistently using a similar mood or style of images, the brand message can be communicated in a memorable way. A good example is a Coca Cola commercial always has a certain feel about it and you will recognize it as a Coca Cola commercial even though you have not seen this particular one yet.
